If you're itching to jump on the Halloween spirit with a side of science, look no further than Birch Aquarium's Halloween Aglow. This festive and educational event is slated to return for two nights of underwater eeriness on October 25 and 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.
Halloween Aglow is set to transform the Birch Aquarium into a nocturnal wonderland where families can explore the depths of ocean mysteries after the sun sets. According to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, guests will be greeted by a festive display of hay bales and pumpkins before diving into a slate of activities that include everything from live music to hands-on slime-ology. Billy Lee and the Swamp Critters are lined up to provide the live soundtrack to your oceanic adventure.
Among the highlights is the Living Light Experience—a can't-miss opportunity to get up close and personal with the ocean's bioluminescence and fluorescence. "There is so much to learn and explore when the oceans are dark!" Matthew Arrollado, Public Programs Coordinator at Birch Aquarium, told the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The event also features underwater pumpkin carving, a costume parade, and a chance to watch shark feedings for a truly jaw-dropping experience.
Tickets for Halloween Aglow are exclusively separate from general admission and are currently on sale. Adults are $40 a pop for the general public and $36 for members. For the kids, tickets are $35 for the non-affiliated and $31 for members, with children aged two and under, free of charge. Those interested can find more information by visiting the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
