The accident, which occurred around 5:40 a.m. on the 3500 block of Cicero Avenue, prompted officials to close off a vital swath of the roadway from Pershing Road to 31st Street, effectively bringing traffic to a standstill and pushing morning commuters to seek alternative routes.
