
Tragedy struck in Wilton Manors yesterday afternoon when a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in a multi-family residential unit. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) indicated the incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Northwest 25th Street. The teenage victim, later identified as Christopher Granados, was rushed to a local hospital but sadly, succumbed to his injuries, as reported by CBS News Miami.
Christopher, a student at Fort Lauderdale High School, found himself at the epicenter of this violent act, this according to details shared by NBC Miami. As officers from both Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale Police Departments responded to the tragic scene, a neighbor recounted the chaotic aftermath, where several teenagers were seen running from the house, screaming and crying in the wake of the shooting.
Though details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting are still sparse, the BSO has affirmed that the incident was isolated to the home, asserting that there was no ongoing threat to the community, as stated in a Local 10 News article. As the investigation continue, authorities have yet to announce any arrests in connection with the death of Granados.
