Following a recent break-in, the San Francisco Police Department has caught four suspects for a commercial burglary in the Richmond District. According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident occurred on Tuesday, just before 9:40 p.m., at a business on the 1600 block of Balboa Street. Officers arrived to find significant property damage, but the suspects had already fled, leaving the officers to investigate and collect evidence.
Alerted by a dispatch about the burglary, plainclothes officers were involved in a citywide robbery/burglary abatement operation. After some time, they spotted the suspect vehicles and surveilled them as they headed toward Oakland via I-80 eastbound at Octavia Boulevard. A plan was executed, and eventually, the suspects were disabled near 8th and Center Streets in Oakland.
Officials identified 27-year-old Enrique Johnson-Antunez of Emeryville and 33-year-old Valerie Brinkmann of Newark as two individuals involved. They were arrested without incident. Meanwhile, in a connected event, Oakland Police arrested Esteban Vasquez Lara and Elena Carlson as they attempted to cash in stolen lottery tickets nearby.
The charges stacked against the suspects are extensive, among them burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, and theft of a vehicle.
