
Yesterday, Governor Greg Abbott made a strategic move, appointing Mark Jones to the Board of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Jones, with impressive credentials in the automobile industry, is expected to serve a term through February 1, 2029.
As reported by the Office of the Texas Governor, Jones' role will involve overseeing essential services, including vehicle registrations and dealer regulations, in addition to contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing vehicle thefts. Before securing the board position, Mark Jones has made a name for himself as CEO of the Mike Carlson Motor Company.
With a history of leadership, having been an erstwhile president for both the Texas and Fort Worth Independent Automobile Dealers Associations, he brings seasoned experience to the board. Having worked across various roles for the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Foundation, Jones' appointment was announced with a nod to his community contributions, as relayed by the same announcement from the Governor's Office.
