Two individuals from Hartsville found themselves behind bars after a middle school football game in Lebanon turned confrontational on Tuesday night. The Wilson County Sheriff's Office reported the arrests of James H. Brewer, 34, and Jessi L. Harris, 34, following what started as a verbal spat and subsequently escalated to a physical altercation at Winfree Bryant Middle School. The game was against visiting Satterfield Middle School from Hartsville, as FOX 17 described.

WKRN reported that resource officers at the school quickly intervened to break up a fight as tensions increased. Wilson County Sheriff’s deputies and Lebanon Police officers also responded to help control the crowd of onlookers. Brewer is facing charges of disorderly conduct and assault, while Harris has been charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault.

Following the fray, both Brewer and Harris were transported to the Wilson County Correctional Facility, as detailed by the Wilson County Source. They were booked and later released on bond.

"The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office takes incidents of this nature seriously," the department stated. "Threatening or violent behavior, especially at family-oriented events such as school games, will not be tolerated. We encourage all attendees to conduct themselves with respect and consideration for others. Law enforcement will continue to ensure the safety of all attendees and hold accountable those who choose to act unlawfully," as mentioned on a statement obtained by WKRN.
