The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a female suspect tied to a recent theft that played out at a Family Dollar store in Lake Worth Beach. Officials said the theft happened on Monday and have released images of the suspect to aid in her capture.
In a report shared by CBS12, the suspect is accused of stealing a bag of cash from another woman inside the store, situated on South Dixie Highway. Although not explicitly confirmed in the post, the thief appears in the surveillance photos holding a black plastic bag, possibly the same one reportedly taken.
Furthermore, The Boca Raton Tribune elaborates on the method of theft, describing it as theft by distraction. The suspect took advantage of a moment when the customer was distracted and made off with the cash-filled bag. In a bid to modernize and streamline the reporting process, authorities are encouraging individuals to offer tips through the PBSO mobile app, which is available for download at www.pbsoapp.com.
The Sheriff's Office is appealing to the public, requesting anyone with information about the suspect to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-8477.
