Over the weekend, a fire ravaged part of a lumber supply business in Las Cruces, prompt response from the city's fire department helped contain the damage. The incident, which took place at L & P Building Supply located at 101 N. Archuleta Rd, drew firefighters to the scene shortly before noon on Saturday, according to the City of Las Cruces. The blaze primarily affected a warehouse and nearby lumber stacks.
Upon arrival, the crews were met with significant flames but managed to bring the warehouse fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. Operations included the removal of several stacks of lumber via forklift, necessary to reach and extinguish the deep-seated fire.
