
The Los Altos Police Department has summoned the community in the wake of an assault on an elderly man, an incident that unfolded yesterday near Foothill Expressway and Highway 280. The suspect is a White male, possibly between the ages of twenty and forty, around six feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with an athletic build. At approximately 3:23 PM, following an alert from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, the Los Altos Police discovered the victim, who had been unconscious with severe head trauma, provided by the Santa Clara County Fire Department, which had arrived earlier to offer medical aid. The 89-year-old Los Altos resident was found next to the railroad tracks adjacent to the Foothill Expressway. After the attack, the man has been able to leave the hospital and is now recovering at his home.
