A 47-year-old man was shot and killed early Wednesday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago, in another incident that adds to the city's continuing struggle with gun violence.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was standing on the sidewalk around midnight when an assailant approached on foot, and without a word, fired shots in the 4100 block of West Grenshaw Street, FOX 32 Chicago reported. According to police,, the man was found with a bullet wound to the head and was quickly rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
As of now, the suspect remains at large with no arrests made.
