Tragedy struck in this morning at a Northeast Side motel when an altercation resulted in gunfire, leaving one man seriously injured while three children were present. Authorities report that the shooting transpired around 12:43 a.m. at the La Quinta Inn situated at 6400 IH-35 N, as indicated by a KENS 5 article.
The situation unfolded when a woman, accompanied by the two men and three children, left the room to get food. During her absence, an argument flared up between the men. With the children witnessing, one of them was shot by the other in the stomach and right eye, as reported by FOX San Antonio. Despite severe injuries, the victim managed to walk downstairs to meet the police, which speaks to a disturbing calm amidst chaos.
The suspect remained in the motel room with the children until the police arrived and arrested him. There’s no information about the children's condition. The victim, who had serious gunshot wounds, was swiftly taken to a local hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition. The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to KENS 5.
