The beaches of Miami may be a draw for tourists worldwide, but a recent survey from the language-learning site Preply has labeled the city as the rudest in America. The study, which took an analytical dive into the manners—or lack thereof—of urban centers across the country, placed Miami firmly in the lead for its perceived impoliteness.
In the findings, which were also featured by Miami New Times, Miami topped the list among the 46 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. Interestingly enough, the citizens of Miami are not oblivious to this dubious honor. As reported by NBC Miami, locals along with those from Oakland, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz., believe that people in their city are ruder than in any other.
The survey attempted to measure this elusive quality, taking into account various factors that contribute to the overall feel of a locale.
On a more positive note, amid all the talk of rudeness, the survey also identified the 'nicest' cities. This aspect of the study fosters contemplation on the importance of kindness within our communities and invites residents and visitors alike to foster a more genial environment.
