While the heat presses on, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward counties, warning of peak feels-like temperatures soaring up to 105-110F. As Sunday wraps up with these scorching conditions, WSVN Weather has noted that the sultry sunshine will continue into the new week. However, the rip current risk stands at moderate, so beachgoers should proceed with caution despite the inviting clear skies.
Entering the week, the forecast suggests only a slight increase in moisture. This could lead to isolated showers and storms, but the probability remains low, hovering around the 20-30% mark. Otherwise, the region can expect more of the bright, blue skies that have characterized the weather of late.
Meteorologists are monitoring a developing disturbance over the western Caribbean Sea or Gulf of Mexico that could affect weather later this week. Although nothing has formed yet, the National Hurricane Center has estimated a 50% chance of development. South Floridians should keep an eye on the situation, but since the disturbance is still in the early stages, it is not an immediate concern.
Meanwhile, additional weather activity in the Atlantic Ocean includes two other active systems and an area under watch for possible development. None of these systems currently presents a threat to land, allowing South Florida to bask in its habitual warmth for the time being.
