Last evening, at around 9:13 pm, a distressing scene unfolded on Canon Street in the Roseville/Fleet Ridge neighborhood, where a collision involving a Ford Expedition and a stationary box truck left several injured. According to a statement released by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), a 37-year-old woman, while driving the SUV with four juveniles on board, veered to the right for reasons yet to be determined and collided with the parked truck.
The aftermath of this incident was one juvenile passenger, just 12 years old, suffering a fractured right femur. The driver and the other passengers, also juveniles, were reported to have sustained minor injuries, all of whom complained of pain following the collision. Not one involved, thankfully, escaped being rushed to the hospital. While investigations are ongoing, officials have confirmed that impairment due to alcohol or drugs was not at play.
The Traffic Division of the SDPD is actively handling the investigation, trying to reconstruct the moments leading up to the accident and establish the cause. The department encourages anyone with information to come forward to assist in their investigation. Please contact San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 if you have any insights or details that could shed light on the incident that may aid the Traffic Division or if you witnessed the collision on Canon Street.
