On the morning of Wednesday, September 11, the Metro Council will unite with the Veterans Caucus of the Metro Council and Vice Mayor Angie Henderson to commemorate the tragic events of 9/11. It's a day of solemn reflections and a shared resolve, never to forget those who fell on that fateful day in 2001. The event will start at 7:45 a.m. on the steps of the Courthouse and City Hall with a moment of silence to honor those who have died and the bravery of first responders, as reported by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville.
At 8 a.m., council members will walk from 3rd Avenue to Symphony Place for the main ceremony, which will be hosted by the IAFF Local 140 Firefighter's Union and the Metro Nashville Fire Department. Many people are expected to attend as the city comes together to pay respects.
All detailed arrangements and the schedule of the event are available at the Metro Council's official website for community members who wish to honor a day that forever altered the fabric of the nation.
