A 17-year-old girl is now fighting for her life after being shot outside of an Antioch home Thursday night, a harrowing event that has rattled the neighborhood. Metro Nashville Police were rapidly summoned to the 3300 block of Calais Circle, with reports of the incident coming in shortly before 8 p.m., according to WKRN. The victim was reportedly sitting on her front porch with her mother when two figures, cloaked in the anonymity of ski masks, openly began to fire at the dwelling. The teen sustained gunshot wounds and was swiftly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.
As detailed by WSMV, the suspects who carried out the shooting were dressed in all black. The police are still searching for them and believe the attack was targeted. Officers and investigators are working to understand the motive, but they haven't yet figured out why it happened.
Further details emerge from the investigation, revealing the victim was shot twice — once in the arm and once in the left side. Anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact the Metro Nashville Police. The investigation is forging onward, and the police vow to untangle the violent act that disrupted the quiet of Calais Circle.
