A recent operation has led to the arrest of two men on charges related to drug sales and weapons possession in Vista, CA. According to a post by the Oceanside Police Department, the arrest occurred on Wednesday, September 25, involving the SWAT, Crisis Negotiations Team, and a drone unit following a traffic stop that led to a deeper investigation.
Narcotics discovered during a routine traffic stop by the department's Gang Suppression Unit set the stage for the arrests of George Luis Antonio, 23, and his brother Jesus Amador, 28. The initial discovery suggested that the driver might be dealing drugs in Oceanside, which in turn prompted a referral to the OPD Narcotics Unit for further action. Officers carrying a pound of methamphetamine were seized alongside various other illegal items after the investigation's findings.
The follow-up investigation warranted search warrants for the suspect’s vehicle and residence. The operation proved fruitful, as officers seized three firearms, one pound of suspected methamphetamine, one ounce of suspected cocaine, and $5700 in suspected drug proceeds in addition to other drugs presumed for sale like mushrooms and marijuana, the Oceanside Police Department detailed.
Both brothers, Antonio and Amador, were taken into custody and booked at the Vista Detention Facility under charges related to drug sales and weapons.
