Tragedy struck outside a South Nashville nightclub early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted, leaving one young man dead and another critically injured. According to WSMV, the shooting took place on Nolensville Pike outside the Bucanas Night Club. Metro Nashville Police report that 18-year-old Yasser Paz and 20-year-old Kyaw Naing were leaving the club with two other friends when a vehicle pulled up alongside them and its occupants began to shoot.
The violence unfolded as the group was departing the venue. FOX 17 stated that multiple men got out of the unknown vehicle to quickly open fire on the men. In the wake of the chaos, Paz and Naing were rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Paz succumbed to his injuries and Naing remained to fight for his life in critical condition.
As authorities work to piece together the motive and identify the suspects involved, the community grapples with the senseless act of violence that claimed a life and left another hanging in the balance. The Metro Nashville Police Department is actively seeking information and asks those with knowledge of the shooting to come forward. As revealed by WKRN, a dark Chevrolet Suburban was described by witnesses as the vehicle from which the gunmen emerged.
