
A man was fatally shot and two others were wounded in a violent encounter Sunday morning in Humboldt Park, as reported by Chicago authorities. The incident, involving a physical fight that escalated to gunfire and stabbing, occurred in the 3100 block of West Luis Munoz Marin Drive shortly before 11:30 a.m.
During the altercation, a 47-year-old man was shot in the back. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to ABC7 Chicago, two other men, ages 42 and 35, were also harmed in the incident with stabbings to the face and were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were reported as stable.
No arrests have been made in connection with the melee, and the Chicago Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the tragic outcome. Details regarding what precipitated the fight or the identities of those involved remain scant as the investigation moves forward.
