The Oregon City Police Department has apprehended 26-year-old Cody Allen Hinze following an investigation that began in August. In a statement released by the department, detailed by KOIN, Hinze is accused of luring a minor, purchasing sex with a minor, and online first-degree sexual corruption of a child. During an undercover investigation, Hinze believed he was conversing with a 15-year-old girl and solicited her to engage in sexual acts.
According to KPTV, Hinze has been lodged at Clackamas County Jail on these charges. Notably, the Oregon City police have also appealed for other possible victims to step forward, indicating that their inquiry might uncover a broader pattern of illicit conduct.
Arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 10, Hinze entered a conversation with undercover officers, revealed by KATU. He solicited what he thought was a teenage girl with the intention of meeting to engage in sexual acts.
