A man found himself the victim of an armed robbery after a night at Bally's casino on Chicago's North Side, according to police. The robbery, which occurred in the early hours on East Ohio Street, was reported after the man left the casino and was getting into his car.
The incident took place around 2:30 a.m., as per the CBS Chicago report. Alderman Brian Hopkins of the 2nd Ward confirmed that the man targeted was indeed a patron of the casino. The robber, after confronting the victim, made off with an undisclosed sum of money and fled in a white sedan, possibly a Lexus.
Police provided further details, stating that a man had alighted from the passenger side of the white sedan and threatened the casino customer with a firearm, demanding money. This account aligns with the description provided in a separate but similar FOX 32 Chicago article, indicating that the incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. near the 100 block of East Ohio Street.
The victim complied with the armed man's demands, thankfully avoiding any physical injury during the ordeal. Post-robbery, the assailant returned to the vehicle and it was last seen going eastbound. While the suspect remains at large, detectives from Area Three are actively investigating the armed robbery. No arrests have been reported as of yet.
