
A fire erupted in the 100 block of West Portal Avenue in San Francisco, causing damage to two buildings and five businesses. The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the one-alarm structure fire. The blaze was reported at 12:48 PM and declared under control by 2:04 PM.

This one-alarm structure fire at 157 through 163 W. Portal, affecting two structures and five businesses, is now contained with no injuries and no displacements. It will be under investigation.

Fortunately, the fire rapidly spread through 157 through 163 W. Portal Avenue and resulted in no injuries or displacements. Forty firefighters and fifteen fire apparatus were dispatched to battle the flames and successfully prevent further spread. The swift response allowed the occupants to be assisted safely out of the buildings.
All nearby residents and workers were urged to avoid the area while emergency services were on the scene.
