SeaWorld Orlando is gearing up to launch what is said to be the first of its kind in the world—an Arctic flying theater attraction scheduled to open in the spring of 2025. Details released Thursday describe an indoor experience where visitors will glide over icy landscapes, dive under the surface of frozen waters, and encounter a range of Arctic wildlife, from beluga whales to orcas and walruses. "This new experience invites families to soar over icy landscapes, dive beneath frozen waters and come face-to-face with some of the planet’s most magnificent creatures," SeaWorld Orlando highlighted in a news release reported by ClickOrlando.

In a combination of cutting-edge filming equipment and set design, guests will experience a simulated journey through the Arctic's airspace and its underwater realm. The custom filming for this attraction was notably done in some of the Arctic's most remote, lesser-seen landscapes, capturing a variety of environments from "lush, green landscapes that challenge the typical perceptions of the Arctic to the snow-capped vistas and crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life," according to ClickOrlando. Furthermore, SeaWorld Orlando promises an unveiling of northern lights show within the comfort of the theater—promising an all-weather attraction for all ages.

According to GottaGoOrlando, this immersive adventure is part of SeaWorld Orlando's commitment to education, aligning with its recent addition of Penguin Trek—a coaster that mimics a journey through Antarctica. The park's president, Jon Peterson, stated, "This indoor immersive flying theater experience reinforces our commitment to education, animal care and research." He also emphasized the enthralling experience, adding, "By bringing the wonders of the Arctic to life, we are offering guests an unparalleled and immersive experience that will create lasting memories for people of all ages."

SeaWorld Orlando focuses on adventurous rides while offering educational experiences. The theater’s multi-level design will allow many guests to enjoy a four-and-a-half-minute simulation of an Arctic expedition. Annual pass holders for 2025 will get early access before the public. The park is now selling these passes, which come with benefits like early access to new attractions and discounts, appealing to everyone from casual visitors to dedicated theme park fans.
