
A shooting occurred outside of Governor's Square Mall in Clarksville, TN, causing alarm and initial reports of an active shooter situation. WKMS details that the Clarksville Police Department addressed the issue, clarifying that no shots were fired inside the mall and no injuries have been reported. “There was never an active shooter situation,” stated Scott Beaubien, the department's public information officer, according to the outlet.
Despite law enforcement responding to the scene around 10:50 a.m., the area was secured without anyone harmed. Following the shooting on the perimeter road around the mall, as NewsChannel5 reports, officers cleared out the mall for a protective sweep. At 1:42 p.m., employees and shoppers were allowed back inside after ensuring no additional threats.
The Clarksville Police Department has stated the incident was isolated, involving only two parties. Witnesses corroborated this, telling police that the shooting occurred in the mall's parking lot, as confirmed by FOX17. The mall was evacuated, and after conducting a thorough search, individuals were let back in around 1:45 p.m.
