
A man was fatally shot at an East Portland train platform, and police have confirmed a suspect is in custody. The shooting occurred yesterday evening in the Hazelwood neighborhood, drawing immediate response from officers from the East Precinct.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, the incident was reported at 7:26 p.m. on the TriMet MAX platform at Northeast 148th Avenue, and East Burnside Street. Officers reported finding a deceased male victim upon their arrival, the suspect's apprehension followed soon after. The area, a commuter nexus frequented by residents, was swiftly cordoned off to aid the investigation.
Homicide detectives from the Portland Police Bureau were promptly dispatched to the scene to begin their investigation.
