An accident occurred early this morning in the Miramar Ranch North neighborhood when a 15-year-old male driving a gray 2024 Ford Bronco struck a streetlight traffic pole. The collision took place on 10550 Scripps Poway Parkway around 2:20 a.m., and the driver sustained a serious injury, an open fracture to his right femur. However, it is considered non-life threatening.
The teen was driving eastbound when he made an undetermined unsafe movement to the right leading up to the impact. The SDPD Watch Commander's Log described the driver's maneuver without specifics on the cause. Traffic units have responded to the scene and taken over the investigation. As the reasons behind the accident remain unknown, police are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to step forward.
The San Diego Police Department advises anyone with information about the collision to contact their traffic division or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 to piece together the events that led to the teen's collision with the streetlight traffic pole and his subsequent injury.
