The aftermath was a grim scene of devastation, with two heavily damaged vehicles and shattered car windows signaling the ferocity of the impact.
First responders had to quickly extricate the victims from the crushed cars using the 'jaws of life.' Three individuals, two men and a woman, were immediately treated and then whisked away to Broward Health North, as they were considered Level 1 Trauma Alerts. "The conditions of the patients range from serious to severe. Notably, one patient suffered a leg amputation as a result of the collision," according to Deerfield-News.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, with ongoing investigations attempting to piece together the moments that led up to the catastrophe. Both vehicles' occupants have not been identified regarding who was in which car at the time of the accident.
