
Two men were left injured following a shooting incident that occurred at the Save N’ Go gas station in Orange Mound, Memphis. Action News 5 reports that the Memphis Police responded to a call on Park Avenue at around 11 p.m. One victim was discovered with a gunshot wound in his right rib and was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition. The officers had to quickly render aid to stabilize his condition.
An additional victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. This individual disclosed to police that he was walking on the side of the gas station when the shots began to indiscriminately fire. Witnesses spotted a red vehicle hastily departing the scene, which is a detail both victims similarly described. "He was with the first victim when shots were fired at the gas station. He stated that he did not see anything, only a red car leaving the scene," according to the account given to WREG News.
As reported by FOX13 Memphis, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) stated that upon arrival at the gas station, one man was promptly found on the ground, suffering from injuries to his right arm and rib cage. Another injured man was discovered shortly after, with wounds to the right hand and arm.
Authorities are currently conducting investigations into the shooting. Efforts to identify the shooter are ongoing, with the red vehicle being a significant part of the inquiry. "The victim stated that he was walking from the side of the store when an unknown suspect started shooting," according to WREG. The community has been called upon to provide any information that could assist in resolving the appalling act of gun violence that has shaken Orange Mound.
