After eluding capture for over two years, a juvenile suspect has been apprehended in connection with a July 2022 carjacking on Chicago's West Side. The Chicago Police Department confirmed that the 17-year-old male is facing one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
The incident, dating back to July 19, 2022, involved a 28-year-old male victim whose vehicle was taken at gunpoint. With the task force working tirelessly, the juvenile was finally located and arrested on October 30, in the 2100 block of E. 87th Street—members of the dedicated Vehicular Hijacking Task Force identifying the suspect, as per the CPD.
According to information released by authorities, "the offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly. No additional information is available at this time."
