
Last night, near the Central Jail in San Diego's Core-Columbia neighborhood, where a dispute over a marijuana sale escalated into violence, resulting in a stabbing. According to the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander's Log, the event occurred at approximately 6:57 PM at 1100 Front Street.
Officer Buttle reported that the altercation started when a 32-year-old male approached a 24-year-old male to sell him marijuana. The potential transaction quickly became a physical confrontation after the younger man declined to buy. During the fight, the suspect is said to have taken out a knife and stabbed the other man under his left armpit before fleeing the scene.
The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Authorities managed to apprehend the suspect a few blocks away from the incident, and they also recovered the knife allegedly used in the stabbing.
Central Division detectives are currently investigating the stabbing. SDPD is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and contact the police or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
