A tragic event unfolded this morning when Antioch police responded to a severe motorcycle accident that claimed a life. Per a press release by the Antioch Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:58 AM in the 4300 block of Hillcrest Avenue. The 43-year-old motorcyclist, an Antioch resident whose identity has not been released, was found unresponsive with major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigations into the crash are still in preliminary stages. However, it was ascertained that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound at high speed before colliding with the sidewalk and sadly being ejected from the vehicle.
