Last night, plainclothes police officers and an armed suspect had a confrontation at San Francisco's 9th and Mission Streets. The San Francisco Police Department reported the officers were on duty at approximately 8:15 p.m. when the suspect shot at them. The confrontation led to a foot chase and the eventual assistance of the SF Sheriff's Department in apprehending the suspect.

In a near-miss encounter, the police officers came under fire, but fortunately, no one was reported injured by the gunfire.
