
The Metropolitan Police Department has reported an arrest in connection with the assault of a child. The incident took place in a Northwest apartment building, according to MPD official website.
The incident took place in the afternoon of September 30, when a man, employed at a building located on the 5200 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, was accused of touching a child inappropriately. The suspect is said to have approached the victim in the hallway around 3:30 p.m., before fleeing the scene after the act.
According to a statement by MPD, the department was able secure an arrest warrant after the incident was reported and conducted an investigation. The alleged assailant was taken into custody two weeks later, on October 17, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. The specifics surrounding the arrest have not been made public, but it signals a quick response from local law enforcement following the assault of the minor.
