Brooklyn Park Police Department is currently seeking the public's assistance in the case of a hit-and-run incident that occurred yesterday morning. According to the department, the collision took place at approximately 8:42 AM near the crossing of 63rd Ave & Boone Ave, striking a 12-year-old girl as she was on her way to a school bus stop. Following the accident, the driver did not stop to offer aid or report the incident, instead choosing to flee from the scene. The girl sustained moderate injuries from the event and had to be transported to a hospital by ambulance.
Authorities have identified the suspect vehicle involved as a white 2015-2019 Hyundai Sonata passenger car, distinguishable by the absence of its passenger-side rearview mirror; a photo of the vehicle has been released to aid in identification. As per the official report, the vehicle is believed to have approached from the west side of Bass Creek Neighborhood, traveling east across 63rd Ave towards Co Rd 81.
The driver is described as a white female, with age currently unknown, and there were no passengers observed in the vehicle during the time of the accident.
