Broward County is now accepting applications for the 2025 NatureScape Emerald Awards. NatureScape Broward seeks submissions from homeowners, businesses, and government entities that demonstrate environmental stewardship and eco-friendly landscaping practices. The awards aim to recognize those who have made significant efforts to adopt sustainable methods and inspire others.
According to the Broward County website, participants in the 23rd Annual Water Matters Day at Tree Tops Park on March 8, 2025, can expect the Emerald Awards to be a featured highlight. Various categories, including Homeowner and Climate Change Leader, are available, allowing a wide range of participants to showcase their sustainable practices.
Landscape architects and design firms are invited to submit projects that follow the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences' Florida-Friendly principles, focusing on environmental harmony. To be eligible, projects must meet UF/IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping criteria or have Wildlife Habitat certification from the National Wildlife Federation. The submission deadline is January 3, 2025.
Interested individuals should act quickly and visit the Emerald Awards site to apply and view examples of past winners for inspiration. For more information, contact Anthony Gross at NatureScape Broward at 954-519-1213.
