
A 19-year-old Charlotte man, Jaylin Johnson, has been apprehended in Union County on a slew of outstanding warrants. According to WBTV, Johnson was taken into custody last Tuesday. He faces charges ranging from assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill to felony conspiracy. During his arrest, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police seized six guns, and multiple weapons violation charges are pending.
Previously, Johnson had been arrested in connection with a triple shooting at a north Charlotte gas station that resulted in the deaths of Jadarius McCullough and Quaveon Robinson. Despite the severity of the initial charges, which included murder, attempted murder, and discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear, they were dismissed due to lack of evidence. In a joint effort between the Crime Gun Suppression Team and Metro detectives of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a wanted man responsible for numerous violent offenses is now behind bars, "As a result of this great collaborative effort, an armed violent offender is now in custody," stated the CMPD. At present, Johnson is housed at the Union County Detention Center and is expected to appear in court on October 31.
