Chicagoans bracing for another chilly night although it's the final shiver before a pleasant warming trend takes hold. According to the National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL, "Significant Frost and Freeze Risk" is in the cards once more tonight into early Thursday morning, particularly away from the city proper and the moderating influence of Lake Michigan.

While the immediate coastline might escape the frost, residents on the outskirts are not as fortunate. The night sky will be mostly clear, ushering in a low hovering around 39 degrees, where frost blankets the ground. But the rest of the week promises dry conditions and a gradual temperature climb back into the 70s come the weekend, according to a social media post by NWS Chicago.

This is confirmed by the local forecast, which bodes sunny skies with a high near 55 today, and the wind maintaining decorum at 5 to 10 mph, gusts peaking respectfully at 15 mph. Thursday night will be clear like previous nights, with slightly warmer temperatures but no clouds in the sky.

On Friday, temperatures will rise to a pleasant 68 degrees, with southern winds blowing at 5 to 10 mph and occasional gusts up to 15 mph. Boaters, however, are advised of "Hazardous conditions for small craft" today and tonight as per the Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Saturday and Sunday exult in sun-soaked highs with 70 and 74 degrees respectively. And come Monday night promising with clear night skies.
