A violent episode that unfolded in Clifton Heights has left a community and local police in pursuit of answers. DeWyon Williamson, a restaurant worker at Buffalo Wild Wings on Calhoun Street and an Army veteran, was viciously attacked on September 30, according to WLWT. Williamson said that an interaction with a disgruntled customer seeking a refund escalated to physical violence when he was blindsided outside of a Shell Gas Station after his shift.
"When I woke up, I was kind of discombobulated. I had to figure out what happened actually," Williamson told WLWT. Recounting the events, Williamson described the man going quiet following his refusal to grant a refund before the later encounter that ended in Williamson's serious injury. Crawling back to the restaurant for help, Williamson's jaw was left wired shut. His injuries now require him to abstain from solid foods, a diet forced for nearly a month thus far.
The Cincinnati Police Department has released an image of the suspect and is actively seeking the public’s assistance. The attacker, last seen wearing a purple shirt, is accused of hitting Williamson from behind, causing him to hit the sidewalk. This attack happened close to the University of Cincinnati campus, as indicated in a report by FOX19. Serious injuries were sustained by Williamson, who police say was rendered unconscious and struck multiple times.
