According to Action News 5, the service is scheduled to take place at Central Church in Collierville next Wednesday at 10:00 am. Abeln, who dedicated an astonishing 37 years of his life to the Collierville Police Department (CPD) and its community, will be honored by family, friends, and colleagues who are expected to gather in commemoration of his legacy.

"In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Chief Abeln’s name," as mentioned in a report by FOX13 Memphis.
