Big news for the sports fans and concertgoers in Utah as the Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) announced a series of upgrades and new fan experiences set to roll out at the Delta Center. As reported by FOX13, the arena, which hosts the thrills and spills of more than 80 NHL and NBA games, is ramping up its game in anticipation of the new season.
Following hot on the heels, of their previous day's announcement regarding slashed concession prices, the Delta Center promises to further enhance the fan experience with a menu of local food and beverage options. Fans can soon chow down on pies from MOZZ Pizza at the southeast corner of the main concourse on Level 3, Summit snacks and tenders on Levels 3 and 5, and wet their whistles with alcoholic beverages from esteemed local producers like Five Wives, High West, and Old Town Cellars.
Not one to make empty gestures, SEG seems to be taking fan feedback seriously. According to Sports Business Journal, a steep cut in concession prices is on the cards: "Dasani water bottles will cost $2, and the arena will charge $3 each for a box of popcorn, nachos, a hot dog, or a scoop of Farr’s ice cream." Chris Barney, SEG's President of Revenue and Commercial Strategy said, as per Sports Business Journal, “We’re showing fans that we are listening to their needs, and, there is no better time than now to take this step as more people than ever will attend games at Delta Center this season.”
Apart from the food and beverage improvements, the Delta Center will also see new entry points to the main level Team Store from the outdoor plaza, likely to ease the mad dash for merchandise during game-day rush. Moreover, there's a treat for Utah Hockey Club aficionados, an exclusive store will be set up on the fifth level, adjacent to Portal EE, as detailed by KSL Sports. And for those bleeding the Jazz's colors, the Jazz Nike store on main level three, near Portal H, will continue to be a haven for apparel and accessories.
