A deadly shooting in Antioch last night that occurred during a marijuana sale has taken the life of a 25-year-old local man at Avana Overlook apartments. According to a report from the Nashville Police Department, the incident stemmed from an argument over the price of the drug.
The victim was reportedly engaged in selling marijuana to three individuals at the 727 Bell Road complex when a discord over the transaction escalated to gunshots. The young man was later pronounced dead after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Nashville Homicide Unit detectives are actively working on leads to identify the suspects involved. A chaplain has been tasked with the somber duty of locating and informing the victim's next of kin.
Law enforcement officers are encouraging anyone with useful information to step forward and assist them in their pursuit of justice. "Anyone with information about them is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463," the police department urged. The police department has put out an assurance that callers to Crime Stoppers have the option to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
