A commercial fire led to a road closure in Lebanon as fire crews rushed to tackle the blaze that erupted at Reliance Heating and Cooling early this morning. WSMV reported that the local fire department arrived to find the HVAC business completely engulfed by the fire, with its roof collapsing shortly after their arrival.
As a result, Tennessee Boulevard at East Baddour was closed off until around 10:30 a.m. to provide firefighters with the necessary space to combat the flames. During the incident, Lebanon Police Department officers managed traffic control and rerouted vehicles, according to WKRN. The cause of the fire, though not confirmed by officials, is believed to originate from a transformer.
The Lebanon Fire Department treated eight individuals for smoke inhalation at the scene; however, none required transportation to the hospital. Furthermore, there were no reports of injuries among the firefighters tackling the inferno. The structure itself has been deemed a total loss by the fire department, and the official investigation into the exact cause of the fire remains ongoing.
Throughout the emergency response, the Lebanon Police Department provided updates via X, urging the public to stay clear of the affected area. "Please avoid the area and give first responders room to work." This according to a post on the Lebanon Police Department's X account. All roads were reported to have reopened following the extinguishing of the fire, signaling a return to normalcy in the flow of Lebanon's daily traffic.
