The department, stationed at 700 NW 19th Avenue, is closing its in-person permit intake services early this week, at 3 p.m. on Friday, according to a recent advisory published by the city.
The temporary downtime is set to last until the end of a day, but those in need shouldn’t worry. The online portal, LauderBuild, stands ready to handle electronic submissions without interruption. However, it is worth noting that individuals requiring assistance for property records requests, business tax inquiries, and other services like code enforcement, planning, zoning, landscaping, and engineering can still visit the building.
In their message to the public, the City of Fort Lauderdale expressed regret for any trouble this early closure might cause, stating "We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding." It's a brief hiccup in the standard operating hours, and it’s clear that there's an aim to minimize the impact on local businesses and residents relying on the Development Services Department's resources.
