Good news for Fort Worth residents who prefer their local city broadcasts in crisp and clear high-definition — FWTV Channel 190 has made a comeback, and this time, it's packing a hefty tech upgrade. After being off-air for a few months, the channel boasts an HD upgrade that takes its broadcast quality from 720 progressive scans up to 1080p. It's a significant step up that the city is betting will keep viewers more informed and visually satisfied than ever before.
As detailed in the official City of Fort Worth announcement, Video Creative Services Manager Cameron Gorman stated, “This is a great milestone for the City of Fort Worth and FWTV as we continue to enhance and integrate new technology into our services for the community.” This latest maneuver by FWTV aims to deliver a better viewing experience while staying relevant in an age where clarity is king. Meanwhile, those who frequent Channel 191 must exercise patience as the Fort Worth Public Library channel also gets an HD makeover and is temporarily offline.
Fort Worth residents now have another reason to look forward to tuning in to Channel 190 — because, let's face it, nobody enjoys a fuzzy council meeting. And for those who are all about the books, it seems only a short wait remains before they, too, can revel in high-definition library programming. Gorman added that the upgrade for Channel 191 is underway and will be completed soon, ensuring both information hubs will be back and back with a visual bang.
