A Greenwood man is now facing a slew of charges, including attempted murder after a domestic incident escalated into a shooting. Joseph Mak Davidson, 20, was arrested after allegedly firing upon his stepfather and stepbrother.

The altercation began with a heated exchange at their home which reportedly turned physical. Davidson's stepfather tried to intervene, but the situation intensified with Davidson allegedly brandishing a firearm and firing at the family members as they hastily made their exit in a truck. This information comes by way of WISH-TV and corroborates the accounts detailed in similar reports from FOX59 and the Daily Journal.

Davidson, who is currently being held in Johnson County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond, now faces charges that include attempted murder, criminal recklessness, several counts of intimidation and domestic battery, possession of a machine gun, and criminal mischief. The charges were filed this Tuesday in Johnson County court, as first reported by WISH-TV.

In the aftermath of the incident, Greenwood police found evidence at the scene consistent with the accusations. They discovered shell casings and bullet damage to the stepfather's truck and a neighbor's home. When the officers arrested Davidson, he is reported to have told them that he had taken "approximately six bars of Xanax" that day but was not prescribed the drug, according to a statement obtained by FOX59.

The mention of Xanax was similarly noted in Daily Journal coverage, as Davidson cheekily admitted to officers, that he was the bad guy during his arrest. Davidson's initial hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Johnson Superior Court 3, according to public records.
