
A man has succumbed to his injuries after being dropped off at a Methodist South Hospital with a gunshot wound last night. According to Action News 5, he was transported by a civilian, arriving at the medical facility around 8:30 p.m.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is currently working to thoroughly investigate the events leading up to the shooting. The man was transferred to Regional One Health in critical condition and, unfortunately, did not survive his injuries. The identity of the good Samaritan who drove him to the hospital has not been disclosed. WREG News reports that "He was then taken to Regional One Hospital where he was pronounced dead."
As of this morning, MPD has yet not share details surrounding the location or circumstances of the shooting. They have also not provided any suspect information, as detailed in a piece by WREG News. The police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their inquiry.
FOX13 Memphis further confirms that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed due to the ongoing investigation, was pronounced dead after his transfer to Regional One Health.
