
An investigation commenced after a body was discovered in the Chicago River in West Town, Chicago. The Chicago Police Department's marine unit retrieved the remains of an unidentified male on Wednesday evening, according to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times. The extraction was completed around 5 p.m. near the 900 block of North Elston Avenue.
The circumstances surrounding the victim's death remain to be determined, as the investigation is ongoing. The Chicago Police Department has yet to inappropriately release any hints regarding the identity of the deceased or the cause of death.
In a WGN-TV report, it was announced that authorities are actively seeking information from the public to aid in the inquiry. The Chicago police are appealing to individuals in the community who may know about the incident.
