
A fatal paragliding accident has claimed the life of a 25-year-old man from Kaysville near Willard Peak, local officials have confirmed. According to FOX 13, the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office was dispatched after receiving a report on Friday around 7:30 p.m. of an overdue paraglider.
The search operation, as detailed by ABC4, included rescue personnel and a Department of Public Safety helicopter which, after identifying a debris field, confirmed the Kaysville man's death in the incident. Assisted by the helicopter, they were able to locate and recover the body from the rugged terrain near the peak.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic loss," said Chief Deputy Sheriff Cade Palmer, as obtained by ABC4. "Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this incident." The identity of the man has not been made public as the investigation continues.
