A Lehi home's garage was consumed by flames after an unattended fryer ignited a fire, as reported by the Lehi Fire Department. Firefighting units were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m. on Wednesday to confront the fire, which was said to have fully engulfed the garage upon their arrival. As obtained by ABC4, the fire department noted that although the homeowners were present during the incident, they escaped without injury.
The emergency response successfully contained the fire within the garage, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the house. However, despite the quick action, FOX 13 reported that there was some "minimal" smoke damage inside the home, which is unfortunate.
While the specifics of how the fryer came to be unattended were not elaborated upon, the role of the fryer as the source of the blaze was confirmed by fire officials. Multiple agencies, including the Lehi Police Department, American Fork Fire Department, and Lone Peak Fire Department, were listed by KSLTV as contributing to the response efforts.
