Fortune smiled on Florida as a South Florida Powerball player won one million dollars, while a Lotto fan in Lake City claimed the same amount from a scratch-off ticket. Both wins, found in grocery stores.

As reported by CBS News, while the grand Powerball jackpot remained elusive for everyone during yesterday's drawing, one ticket sold at a Publix on 147th Avenue and Coral Way found favor by matching every number save for the Powerball, landing a cool million. The fortunate numbers are 1-25-57-62-64 and Powerball 15. Three additional Florida residents were to also soon discover their more modest but significant $50,000 prizes.

Also joining the winners was Edwin Scroggin from White Springs, who struck it rich with a $30 scratch-off ticket. He won a $1 million jackpot playing the Florida 300X the Cash game at a Winn-Dixie in Lake City. Scroggin chose a lump-sum payment of $695,500, as The Miami Herald reported.

Scroggin hasn't revealed how he plans to spend his newfound wealth. He won against odds of 1 in 1,950,175, with two of the four $15 million top prizes still unclaimed in his game as of today. It's uncertain whether the winners will quietly enjoy their riches or make a splash with purchases and investments.

The Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $478 million, with a cash option of $230.5 million for tomorrow's drawing. Players are eagerly lining up for a chance at the grand prize, despite the odds of 1 in 292 million.
